What to do if the output amplitude is insufficient?
A.
If the frequency is close to the target frequency but the waveform amplitude is insufficient, you can improve it using the following three methods:
After improving the waveform amplitude, use a spectrum analyzer to confirm that the adjusted frequency still meets the required specifications.
- Reduce External Capacitors: Decrease the values of the external capacitors (CL1, CL2) by selecting a crystal with a lower load capacitance (CL).
- Choose Low ESR Crystals: Select crystals with a lower equivalent series resistance (ESR).
- Use Unequal External Capacitors: Design the circuit with unequal values for the external capacitors (CL1, CL2). Increase the output capacitor (Xout) while reducing the input capacitor (Xin) to enhance the amplitude of the output waveform from Xin.
