How to Reduce EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) Issues?
A.
If the crystal is subject to too strong electromagnetic interference, you can try the following solutions:
- Use a Counter for Frequency Detection: When the signal is being interfered with, use a counter to check if the frequency is operating normally.
- Check Power Supply Mode: If the interference is coming from AC signals in the power supply, verify whether the power and signals are in a floating ground mode. If not, switch to the floating ground mode for the signals.
- If the frequency is too High, try the following methods:
- Ground the crystal oscillator enclosure.
- Select a crystal with a smaller static capacitance (C0).
- Increase the external load capacitance (CL1, CL2) by choosing a crystal with a larger load capacitance (CL).
- Check Surrounding Circuit and PCB Design: Inspect the surrounding circuitry and the PCB layout. If both are functioning correctly, contact the IC supplier for assistance in investigating the unresponsive chip issue.
Compatibility and Quality Issues: If the chip is found to be incompatible or has quality problems, ensure that you select a suitable chip based on the actual application of the circuit design.
