Sustainable Environment

Greenhouse Gas Management

In response to global climate governance trends, nations are establishing net-zero emission plans. Taiwan has also committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, with corresponding regulatory policies progressively requiring compliance from listed companies.
While Aker Technology is scheduled to complete greenhouse gas verification by 2027, we are proactively planning to conduct a greenhouse gas inventory in 2023. We understand that by first assessing our environmental performance and implementing viable strategies, we can create sustainable value for our business.

Greenhouse
Gas inventory
To ensure the effectiveness of internal inventory data, Aker has implemented the ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas inventory standard within the parent company. Through quantitative data, regular monitoring, meeting reports, and internal and external verification, we conduct hotspot analysis based on the inventory results. This will guide us in developing a phased carbon reduction plan for the future.

Organizational
Boundary
The company's main sources of greenhouse gas emissions come mostly from equipment manufacturing. Additionally, since Aker's factory is located with the headquarter in Tanzi, the headquarter was therefore the first to undergo an inventory process. In 2023, training sessions were conducted by external consultants to provide thorough training in preparation for both internal and external audits. In 2024, a third-party agency recognized by the FSC conducted a ISO 14064-1 certification.

Inventory Data
Scope 1 and 2 inventory is being conducted at the current stage.
Scope 1 emissions amount 156.4095 tCO₂e;
Scope 2 emissions amount 2418.4063 tCO₂e (mainly from purchased electricity), for a total of 2574.8158 tCO₂e.
